OK - I've lived with a pair of Cymbals for 8 months now, and I love them! No smearing here and man...the low end extension + control. They don't run out of gas at volume or bass heavy music like my pair of Decware SE-83CS amps did. I like them much more than the Bel Canto S300 I used to have because of their SET like sound on vocals and jazz. There is a very low noise floor, the output impedance can be changed to match speakers, and they have been rock solid.
I use Decware HDT speakers with the DFR-8 modified Fostex FE-206e, Hagerman Castanet as a line buffer, Chime DAC and Cornet 2 /Piccolo phono.
Although I didn't built this pair, I thoroughly inspected them. Hagerman makes great kits, and the Cymbal is no exception, building up in a similar fashion to the rest of the Constructor Series like the Cornet, and Chime.
These are keepers, and I highly recommend them!
