Just checking.

I already have a Cherry Jr. and a few weeks ago I received a beautiful Cherry Monoblock with a 1500VA transformer. I plan to use it to drive eight 15" drivers in an infinite baffle subwoofer system.

Yes, good question.
Been swapping in a tube amp and comparing against the Cherry Plus (a JWN EL84-based Hammond organ amp). The tube amp is not truly full range (probably 40Hz to maybe 19kHz with the NOS tubes that came with it), and seems to emphasize the midrange. But it is a very nice midrange and the amp is very forgiving of bad recordings because of the top end roll-off. Listening to Aretha on vinyl, it was pretty amazing sounding. A bit more 3-D soundstaging and imaging than the Cherry Plus, but there is a lot of noise with the tube amp - both in the signal and coming from the amp itself - likely needs a tube swap. Both amps are very musical despite their being such different animals or machines. Pretty fun stuff.
Haven't heard much from Tommy lately - R&D hopefully?

Tommy's profile shows that he hasn't even been on Audiocircle (at least logged in) since March 13. This was a few days after he mentioned he was out of the US. I hope he is okay.

Tommy's probably out cherry pickin' the blossoms.

Great joke, but perhaps there is need to put the great sense of humor aside ...over a month of not even logging is a matter of serious concern, unless he is totally incommunicado somewhere faraway (which in itself would be strange)....those of you guys that are closer friends of his know where he is? Is he responding to other means of communication (texting, phone, tweeter, facebook)? Email appears to be silent too.
-
I threw a bug out there, let's see if it'll find a home (could be it already found a home and he's been under the weather with the bug). :dunno:

I texted Tommy today and asked him to log in and say Hi.
I'll let him respond but I can offer to get in touch with him on our Bat-phones for anyone who is having trouble contacting him.
Last week he soldered up some op-amps for my EE dac, and I got to build amps for him (I got the "screw the feet into the bottom of the chassis" job) :thumb:.

You should use a DAC-phone instead of a BAT-phone.

You're so right - I use the BAT phone to call Victor Khomenko!!

mfsoa, if you have not done already, please check private messages.

Hi everyone!!!! I'm alive and well. :) After international travel, I had some logistic issues (like moving) to take care of. However, we have been communicating here over normal email the whole time. It was merely an absence from Audio Circle!
