Man Cave Audio, a Two-channel Audio System by stereocilia

Room Size
18 x 22
System Overview
Undaunted by rock.
Music Preferences
grunge, indie, pop, occasionally: jazz, infrequently: classical
Room Description
The irregularly shaped with an unfortunate pillar dividing the room. a ledge runs along two sides, one of which is interrupted by a fireplace. Ceiling is only 7 feet. I am sitting only about eight feet away with the pillar behind me.
Acoustic Treatment
3 GIK 242 panels on the front wall and one DIY panel (cloth over polyfill over fiberglass in 3" thick frame -- it looks like a big couch cushion)
Listening Impressions
I'm very happy overall; the presentation is dynamic, coherent, and relatively uncolored. The bass is excellent just about anywhere in the room, the midrange is well-balanced, and the treble is lively. Imaging is very good but not stellar. The overall sound can be a little slow and lush, but in music with some bass attack the sense of speed is restored. Some reviewers of the psb synchrony ones have reported a hardness in the lower treble, but I don't have that sense at all, especially since the Bryston 4B SST2 was introduced.
Media Storage
3 TB hard drive from a quiet pc.
Other Comments
I avoid placing gear between the speakers. To my ears this mucks up the imaging.
