I purchased a Buck Knives cutlery set in December and have been very happy with them. In the future I may try Warther Cutlery. I believe Warther knives are manufactured in Dover, Ohio. Beautiful knives.

Chef Knives To Go carries about 80 brands, nearly all are Japanese.  Plus lots of info about steels and smiths.

There's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to knives nowadays!  I'll second the suggestion, head over to ChefKnivesToGo, tons of excellent stuff.  You'd have a hard time finding a bad option there.

Reports are that negative reviews are censored, so just be aware of that possibility. (Heck, even Amazon is doing that now...)

I've read that in a few places as well.  But I can say that the owners are very aware of responding to emails quickly, try to keep customers happy, and they are knowledgeable.
