Setting up new room
« on: 29 Aug 2004, 03:31 am »
I have just completed a new home theater/rehearsal studio. The room is 21'x25'. ceilings are 10' to 13' popcorn over acoustic sheetrock and drywall. Tile floor with some area carpets, leather sofa and recliners.
I am installing a denon 4805s and 5.1 B&W speaker system w/ Klipsch sub.
I am considering building wall traps 36"x36" of 1.5" ductboard with batting and decorative material covering or the front wall (eq & 110" screen) and rear wall (13' H). I am considering "checkerboarding" these panels corner to corner along the wall. My corners need to be addressed also. Can I build the same style traps in the corners?; and if so, how tall.wide, and where on the corner do I install them?(top, mid, low). The room will also be used as a live band rehearsal studio. Thank you in advance.
