Looks better than the show Mafico had here in Haarlem a month ago.

What will be the pricetag on the 24B3?

That's not too horrible! With some luck I might still get a decent return on my latest model 4B SST2!

ROOM #496 Bryston

Bryston is nothing new to the audiophile scene.

They are a Canadian company with a proven history of offering standout products that famously stand the test of time. Here at the show Bryston has assembled one of their six-channel actively-driven and DSP-controlled 2-channel speaker systems.

That may sound confusing at first, but to sit and listen to this all-Bryston offering is to have everything clearly displayed in front of you in a field of sound that is expertly measured and precise.

MEMO: To All Bryston Customers
SUBJECT: Bryston Demo – AXPONA 2018 –SOHT Magazine

 April 2018

Bryston was demoing an ‘Active’ Mini T system that involved speakers sans ‘passive’ crossovers.

The system uses an active dividing network, the BAX-1 which fed signals to a multi-channel amp, the 24B Cubed 6-channel amp.

This amp delivers 300 watts to each woofer and 75 watts each to the mids and tweeters.

The crossover has DSP with a 10-channel parametric EQ for tuning the bass.

This topology concept is a brilliant idea and the results are there for all to hear.

What I heard was a very transparent mid-range and extended highs. Bass was solid and had low distortion.

This is a very impressive system that comes with a 20-year warranty. And the thing with Bryston is that they will be around 20 years from now to honor that commitment.

I enjoyed every minute listening to this system.

James,

does the 24B has the same dimension (depth) as the 875HT amp? if yes, then this amp is indeed smaller (height) but it is also much ''deeper'' than a 4B.

Axpona 2018 - Memorable Rooms and Exciting New Products

ROOM #496 Bryston

I really liked the Bryston active speakers - Mini T.

What a system!

Removing the crossover and making it external, feeding it with a new Bryston 24B six channel amp (Tweeter, Mids and Bass) and DSP to compensate for the hotel room was all awesome!

Awesome sound!

Hi James

I spoke with Joe Reynolds of Nordost fame about the Axpona Show.

He mentioned that your Bryston display sounded wonderfully right and that people talked about it often.

AXPONA 2018

This was my first time at Axpona and I must say that I really enjoyed the energy and pace of what was going on in Chicago this year.  In my view, people were smiling a lot and generally having a great time.

This show was also much bigger than I expected.  There were over 150 rooms set up and the venue was top notch.  perhaps some of the listening rooms were a little small and I wished for more space in many cases.

Bryston broke out with a number of new product launches and their room was one of the stronger all-around performers.  Also, you can't beat their 20-year warranty!

I need to sign off now but I definitely look forward to next year's installment of Axpona.  Great vibe, good crowds, and an appropriate venue.  I don't care if it snows either!
