Hi from Nova Scotia
« on: 5 Sep 2024, 12:49 pm »
Hello from a new member in Nova Scotia.  Currently running QUAD ESLs (57) with a LEAK Stereo 20.  Have used JMLabs, magnepans, Acoustats and more in the past. Amps include Beard P35, Golden Tube Audio SE40, Marantz 8b, Opera Consonance Cyber 100S   Just purchased some Soundlabs used and looking to learn and contribute!

Welcome to the Circle Paul! You certainly seem to have "been around the block" with equipment that you listed. I am a fan of vintage high-end gear too, but there is a lot of new stuff that's quite tantalizing and we share opinions without being judgmental or condescending around here. I look forward to you sharing some of your experiences with us!  :)

Welcome to the forum from the left coast. I have a buddy with ESL57 + the same Leaks (highly tweaked)

I always had a love/hate relationship with the QUADs (same problem with LS3/5a — which he also has). Hard to make a bad EL84 amp, my PP is very good.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
