In case you are unfamiliar with the LS-6, send me a PM with your email address and I will forward you two reviews on these speakers (Stereomojo and John Zurek reviews) with a lot of detail.

Please come and audition these wonderful sounding speakers!

The LS6s get most of what the LS9s can do... just not quite all.  At less than $4K, I don't know whats out there that can match.
Better than all but a very few and a very reasonable price.  They should sell quickly.    :thumb:

If I hadn’t already bought the NX Oticas, I would seriously look into buying those. Especially if I lived near you. Line Arrays and open baffle are the only two speaker types I have any interest in anymore.

Are replacement drivers still available for these, Danny?

Out of curiosity wondering why these are no longer offered? For those with spacing issues it seems like these, or something similar, would be potential alternatives to the NX open baffle designs.

The BG Neo 8s tweeters are no longer available (the were a custom variant), and the woofers were also custom made specific to that model.

We only have 1-2 tweeters left as spares.

The way the drivers share the load they never see much power. They will last forever unless you poke a screw driver through them or something.

And I've got an emergency woofer and tweeter somewhere... if the 6's and 9's have the same specs.

I'm the fortunate soul who got to assume ownership of this pair of LS6's. Can't say enoughgood things about Kurt, the seller. Extraordinary hospitality and practically instantaneous assistance answering any questions or addressing concerns made this purchase an extremely positive experience. Looking forward to getting to know these magnificent speakers and am fairly confident I'll be able to end my quest for a line source that can displace my QLS-1's.

tomlinmgt, what a wonderful listening room and rig! Very nice collection of components both modern and classics that helped found the modern high-end HiFi space. Remind me which model Infinity speaker is that next to the LS-6? I also spy a Threshold amp  and back on the rack is that an early Krell preamp along with Soundcraftsman amps?

I enjoyed seeing your system so much I am reposting the photo rotated.

Very nice speakers. It’s a shame they are no longer offered. I had some time with the LS9s and in the right room, you wouldn’t even know they were there.
I think you will happy with them for a very long time.

Thank you for the kind words. The speakers are Infinity QLS-1. Main amp is a Threshold S/300 and it's been hot rodded a bit. The two Soundcraftsmen amps are for the JBL 4648 subs which have been modified to lower port tuning from low 40's to low 30's (they're playing -3db @ 22 Hz with the corner loading and a bit of EQ). The preamp is an Adcom GFP-750 and it has been extensively modified with dual power supplies, upgraded caps and volume pot motor and also rewired. DAC is a Denafrips Pontus II.

My objective is maximum bang for the buck over making any sort of fashion statement and I put optimizing room acoustics above pretty much everything else. The room is a dedicated listening space I started building a few years ago and finished last year.  It's 19x26 with a vaulted ceiling to 14', so I think the LS6s are a just about perfect fit.

Last night was the first time I've been able to hear them in my system and although I only spent about half an hour with them, I'm hearing enormous potential. I haven't gotten them to where they totally disappear, but I haven't yet done any repositioning of speakers or the location of the listening chair, either. Right now I have them spread 9' apart and the listening spot about 11' away. They're around 6' out from the front wall and 5' from the side walls with a little toe in. HF drivers are to the inside. I have several other amps to try with them including a White Oak Phase Linear 700B, Krell TAS, First Watt Aleph 5 kit amp and a Tube Audio Design TAD-60.

Thanks for fixing the picture. Not sure why images always appear rotated when I upload them here on audio circle. It's the only forum where that happens. If anybody can tell me how to prevent that, I'd sure appreciate it.

I prefer tweeters on the outside, woofers on the inside. Typically a little wider apart to the distance away from the listing position. Slightly toed in toward the listening position. I get the LS-9s to disappear in my room. Congrats on the purchase.
