OK, I'm interested - what do you have in mind? A show-n-tell? I have some DIY amplification that I'd be very interested in hearing on other people's speakers. I don't have my own transport, but as long as something can be organised I'm in.

How about an arvo at my place (Frenchs Forest, NSW)?

How about John R brings his Jordan full range?

How about Andy G brings some curved sided speakers.

How about Bart brings his skeptisism/flamboyance?

It would be interesting to compare John's Jordan full range to my Diatone full range and anything Andy can bring?

My GK-1 and AKSA 55 will soon have Riken Ohm carbon film resistors in the signal path and Black Gate capacitors (as per the Valhalla thread).

So, Larry are you still alive, well and interested in comparing my GK-1 and AKSA 55 to yours?

Jens from Copenhagen is coming to Oz, in November. Maybe we could do a bloody big Oz welcome?

My system is now:
Rega Planet 2000 cd player
Modded AKSA GK-1. Auricaps everywhere in the signal path (3 per channel), a black gate in the power supply, a Riken Ohm resistor and DACT stepped attenuator as a shunt volume control, and Riken Ohms in the signal path. Neato Siemans valves.
Modded AKSA 55 power amp. Hovlands at C1. Black Gates everywhere and a Riken Ohm in the signal path at R9.
Diatone full range 6 inch speakers in a Voight TQWT pipe
Kef B139 active sub woofer in a bloody big bass reflex enclosure
CAT 5 interconnects (4 strand).
CAT 5 speaker leads (8 strand).
Linn Sondeck LP12, Koetsu Black cartridge, Syrinx arm.

Andy may have had in mind something like the "DIY" events in the US. Those are speaker DIY only, and they have contests and stuff (in some anyway)

PS Can I bring some records? Haven't heard them for ages

Hi, mate, I am still around. (I buckle up everytime so that I have a higher chance to hang around a little longer

) However, my attention has apparently been drawn to some other things so that I visit this site less frequently.

Having said that, I have no less interest in continuing to tweak my gears. Sure, I will bring my GK-1 along and join you.

no lid, but in perfect condition otherwise. It probably owes me about $150 including the Shure M95 (which I'm pretty sure is also in very good condition.)

If you like I'll search out the manual, and scan an email it to you.

I have got a pioneer tt lid that might fit and some hinges somewhere I think.

This post kicked off 6 months ago, to the day.
We collectively haven't done much, have we?
Let's try and organise a get together in the next 6 months.
I have AKSA gear, Rega Planet 2000 CD player, Diatone full range, Kef B139 sub. I have a dead sounding room (not great).
But our place in Frenchs Forest, Sydney is okay by me.
Any other offers?

can't do anything up here in the way of as get together, small rental house etc.... but given notice I could attend and could maybe even bring something like a pair of ARGOS pipes or something for the fun, depending on what available at the time!!!
