3A deCapo What resistance should I read
« on: 1 Nov 2005, 08:35 pm »
Greetings,this is my first post.
I have the older model (MM deCapo) With a problem, I am reading these resistances ( biwire jumper removed) at binding posts.

Left Speaker  woofer 4.6 ohm, tweeter 4.7ohm
Right             woofer 4.6ohm , tweeter  open

What to do?  Thanks

I can't give you a scientific answer but I can tell you that my SET amp, that has  4 ohm and an 8 ohm speaker taps, definitely drives the DeCapos better if the 8 ohm tap is used. The DeCapos are a nominal 9 ohm load which, coincidently, is the sum of the individual impedences that you measured. Go figure!
