I've decided to have my amps continue the trek around the USA so they can come back east. ~10 new people max for this leg. Make sure you read the specific directions!
These are XLR input only. Pin 2 hot. RCA > XLR adapter can be used without issues and are included.
Please post your interest with your state.
The terms will be as follows:
Member must be a member of AC in good standing with some history
All members are responsbile for shipping cost to the next member (Budget ~$30)
You post honest feedback for all to see
You only keep the amps for a maximum of 3 days
Please be careful with these. These are my personal units and I'd like for them to come back how they left which is in perfect condition.
The best way to give me your info is via email. DO NOT PM it to me. It makes it very difficult when I'm mobile. If it's not emailed you will be missed.
Email the shipping info and phone number with the subject "NCORE TOUR 2-your moniker" Again, if this isn't in the subject it will be missed as I get a very large amount of email per day.
This is all at your own risk. AudioCircle or any member is not responsible for your actions. You are fully responsible for your stereo, the loaned amps and shipping to the next member. Remember, if you're not sure, just ask. It really is that simple.

Thank you Jason. I and my fellow club members salute you. :banana piano:
Now it is a matter of waiting through the summer  for them to arrive. I just noticed I get them after Barry, dam. Just kidding, Barry is a great choice and a stand up guy. Hey Barry.

Well, being that you are about 30min away you can go to his place for some extra listening.

Great list of tour members. I'm looking forward to their opinions.
Great job Jason :thumb:

The all and powerful Jason has spoken. You hear that Barry, he he. Of course Barry is welcome to come by my place as well for some extra listening.
If I can accommodate other interested AC members in the area and give them a chance to hear them once I have them I will do my best.

Can I ask what XLR to RCA adapters are included? I have a pair from parts express that negatively affect the sound quality. This concerns me greatly, and I'm pursuing getting my IC's with XLR's on one end, but if I don't have to go through the trouble, I would love to avoid it.
-
Good to see that RClark and OzarkTom will finally be able to hear ncores in their systems. Look forward to your listening impressions fellas.
-
Mine might be the first tripath comparison, and my Two.2 is all duded up and decked out and ready for a scrap. But it should be a slaughter just based on the difference in headroom alone. I'm pretty excited to try them soon before I get my pair.
I'm mostly interested in Danny Richie's impressions. He's got those $50,000 super star destroyers.
-
And I have a SET amp, a highly modded tripath, several other tube amps, and another highly rated Class D amp to compare the Ncores to.
This will be very interesting.
-
can i listen some one in NJ nyc area... i am in newport area...
-
I noticed that Rclark and jonbee live in Washington State. Are either one you in the Puget Sound area?
It would great if I could get a listen if you're close enough. :D I live in Port Townsend.

I'm in downtown Seattle. I'm having several friends over when I get them. Send me a PM if you're interested. I'll be comparing it to the amp section (Icepower) in my Cullen modded PS Audio GCC-500. I may have other comparos as well.

Keep your eyes open for emails and updates. They're closing in on you!
-
rclark, what are you referring to when you say 50,000.00 super star destroyers?
-
I think he referring Dodd big blue amps.
-
I have updated Post #2 as the first member has a chance to listen to them locally. That means that Rclark will receive them first mid to late next week.
-
Ended up hanging out with a bunch of friends today (gorgeous 86 degrees) and we ended up at one of the girls parent's house, who ended up having some really nice looking diy speakers, floorstander box type, with a ribbon tweeter, and there were large tube amps connected to the rig. They were actually pretty large. Didn't see a logo on any of it. I did see the rack had really nice vinyl setup and an old school looking Marantz preamp. We were there for maybe about 20 minutes, had some shots, and then left.
They were playing country music but I definitely did lend an ear. The amps had several of those black treasure tubes, I've seen them in pics.
It sounded alright. Pretty spacious and lush, almost overly so. But I kept thinking about my rig at home and how I definitely prefered the sound of my modded maggies with the modded tripath. There was something almost sloppy about the sound of the other system. Might have been the room. Couldn't quite put my finger on it but I wasn't there long enough.
If might have been biamped because there was another set of smaller tube amps there up top. Thank god they have air conditioning.
Anyway, yay, Ncores soon.

If you are due to receive the amps, please make sure you ship when asked. If you are going to not be able to ship on the date specified then ship them a day early. It's not fair to me or to the next person in line. If this doesn't work for you, just tell me and I can skip you.

Amps should be shipping today to Industry Participant Danny Richie.

-
Wow. Last stop. End of an era.
And a good time to thank Jason again for his incredible generosity in making this tour possible. Not to mention all the coordination it required of him. Bravo for this act of generosity that makes me proud to be an ACer. :banana piano: :notworthy: :thumb:

Great work Jason!
Do we have a total count of the systems the Ncores visited during these tours?
And, perhaps, a percentage of people who found them good sounding! :green:

35 systems that I know of.
No idea about the percentage.
Feel free to go through all the posts though and figure it out. http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=105310.0

To all that participated in the first and second tour:
Thanks for keeping my amps in the condition that they arrived back in. This is very much appreciated and what I was hoping would happen. It says a lot about you guys. :thumb:
I hope you enjoyed your time with them whether you thought they were sonically able or not.
-
And a huge thanks to Jason for the tour and putting up with, well, ... lotsa stuff
I know I gained a lot of insights just reading all the thoughtful comments and suggestions. Hopefully you all thought it was totally worthwhile as well. Great job :thumb:

I second that heartily. My decision to build mine was taken only because I could heard them in my system, taking the uncertainty out totally.
Combined with the pictures, posts, etc., made this upgrade fun and successful, with no nasty surprises.

Jason rocks. What more is there to say?
Anand.
