I first heard Zero 7 featured on the "Confidence" movie soundtrack and was intrigued by their cool down lounge style and great female/male vocals. After picking up their CD "Simple Things" I was further impressed by this British musical force.
With its lush ambient backgrounds and shimmering vocals, reminiscent of "Moon Safari" by Air; this record should quickly and easily hook you into their groove. The song "Destiny" sung by the Australian phenom Sia will surely send shivers up your spine while her heart-breaking voice in "Distractions" can only reinforce the potency of this band. "In The Waiting Line" is a pop masterpiece that should be #1 on the US charts if radio stations would just play it more.
In short if you are into lounge, electronic, ambient, fusion or in general - good music, this is a group you should check out. Soothing, but never boring, Zero 7 has a sound all their own and what a sound it is!
