I had loaned my CD of "Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the '60's"
to the local music guy, but got it back today: it's a various artists remake of famous and not-so-famous songs from the '60's that I heartily recommend.

Jonatha Brooke - Bleecker Street  (i.e. Simon & Garfunkel)
Marshall Crenshaw - My Back Pages  (Dylan)
Chrissie Hynde - Morning Glory   (Tim Buckley)
Curtis Stigers - No Regrets
Loudon Wainwright III & Iris DeMent - Pack Up Your Sorrows
Ron Sexsmith - Reason To Believe
Jules Shear - Darling Be Home Soon
Suzie & Maggie Roche - The Love's Still Growing  (Buzzy Linhart)
Patty Larkin - Everybody's Talking
Cry Cry Cry - The Last Thing On My Mind
John Cale & Suzanne Vega - So Long, Marianne
John Gorka - Thirsty Boots
Larry Kirwan & Black 47 - I Ain't Marchin' Anymore  (Phil Ochs)
Beth Neilsen Chapman - Since You've Asked
Paul Brady - Let's Get Together
(Instrumental) - Turn, Turn, Turn  (Byrds)

I think this CD stands on its own musically, but may well have special associations for those who were around for the original versions.
Astor Place also put out a "Songs of Laura Nyro" CD that's similarly good.
I'm not a major fan of various artists tribute CD's, but these two really stand above the general fare.  Astor Place, unfortunately, is out of business?????
