One more for tonight

Kubla-Kahn • Mystic Crystal Revolution

Kubla Khan was an offshoot of the Zakary Thaks and the Liberty Bell, a pair of '60s-era Corpus Christi, TX-based garage bands. Although shorter-lived than either of its predecessors, Kubla Khan's music is just as worthy of being heard as it featured the voice and songwriting of Chris Gerniottis. By all accounts, Gerniottis was one of the most powerful vocalists ever to come out of Corpus Christi, and his songwriting was flexible enough to move within a multitude of idioms, from the psychedelia of the Zakary Thaks to the more basic hard rock of Kubla Khan

He introduced me to the Blues. This one for me is HUGE for me,I have spent hours with his music. I had a moment with him,I was taking a fishing trip to Arizona and he walked on the plane and I recognized him immediately,I mean he was carrying a guitar case. I chatted him up,told him I listened to Blues from Laurel Canyon yesterday and told him h..e was iconic. He then told me he he was going to a show for the next day and invited me and asked my name so he could leave me tickets at the door. I told him I would be @ Hawley Lake fishing. I thanked him anyway and he walked to his seat.
BIG LOSS. RIP John, thanks for all the blues.

Hadn't checked your thread in a couple of days, so missed this till I got a note from a friend today P-man. Toured till he was 85, and still looked fit to rock. Truly very sad news, his music will be missed.
