Quad-Cap Bypass Caps on a VTA ST-70 Mod
« on: 29 Apr 2018, 03:27 pm »
I'm embarking on a VTA ST-70 upgrade for my Dyna ST-70.  Some years ago a friend added some 0.1uF bypass caps to the stock quad cap.  I'm wondering if they're ok to just leave in place for the VTA mod, or do they need to go?

Hi Knotscott,
I know of 2 guys that after looking at that picture would say it must go. Monk and Tony Randall.
There must be something in the mind of audio an audio nut that associates clean wiring with clean sound. Maybe the cap. circuit works but it's like a car. You want it to look good too to be proud of your ownership. Just my view....Mark Korda

Thank you Mark.  I'll pull them and go with the VTA schematic unless someone offers a convincing rebuttal.
