Largest capacity SSD in BDP3?
« on: 27 Jan 2019, 02:22 am »
Dear Bryston,

I currently have a 1 TB SSD drive internally installed in my BDP3, but am starting to get close to running out of room.  Can you please let me know what is the largest capacity SSD that I can place into the BPD3?  I believe the upper limit is 2 TB, but I am not certain.  Thank you for clarifying.

Best regards,

John

A 2TB drive should be fine, but we generally recommend using a hard drive over a solid state drives.  There really isn't much performance gain for the cost.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the feedback.  Since 2 TB SSDs are less than $300 I am not too concerned with cost.  I still prefer the SSD where there are no moving parts and less heat being generated than a more traditional hard drive.

I see both Sandisk and Crucial make a 2TB SSDs with five year warranties.

Cheers,

John
