I've never even heard of most of them, but I am going to make a serious effort to illegally download all of those albums on a P2P network.

the big Zero!  Can you believe number 9 can't even sing?  That speaks volumes about the state of the music industry.  Very sad.  Although it's kind of cool that an Usher sold the most records.  My friend was an usher when I was in highschool.  He would always sneak us in to the theater free of charge!  Don't know if he ever released any records but he got to wear a cool blue uniform.   :D

Okay, that was bad.  I was going to say that I'm a big fan of Usher's brother, Waiter.  Don't you think a more apropriate name would have been "Singer"?  When you go to an Usher concert, does he escort you to your seat or show you what section you are in?  Would you rather take a kick from a mule to the solar plexus or sit through an hour of an Usher concert?  Suddenly, I don't feel so bad for Marlee Matlin.

"Here for the Party," Gretchen Wilson: 2,931,097??? this one makes me think of Butthead line "...the party's in your mouth, everyone's coming!"

None.  However, I am surprised that William Hung's CD did not make the top 10.  I would have owned one if it did... :thumb:

Nathan, which p2p network do you use?  I have been out of that world since the demise of Napster.  I am just curious.

2, Norah and Maroon 5, 2 of my favorites this year which is a very short list. I have been checking out a lot of best of 2004 lists lately hoping to find some good new artists, everybody seems to be into The Arcade Fire and The Fiery Funaces which I have checked out and been left  a little :?

Oops- I guess I owned 3 and then sold one of them because it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

1:Eminem- Encore- not his best, but still better than most in this misunderstood genre.
2: Usher- Confessions- R&B gold, man!
3: Maroon 5- killer hit songs, but album was uneven and I couldn't help thinking I was listening to a band trying to sound like Jamiroqui trying to sound like Stevie Wonder.  Sold it and instead put on Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life on my TT.

I use Limewire, but it sucks.  (I will spare you my anti-Limewire rant for now) I couldn't download an entire album if I tried.  I mean, I desperately WANT to break the law and deprive record executives of their right to earn a generous living, but getting tunes from Limewire is like filling a speaker stand with lead shot by using a tweezer.  :? You'll know they're getting desperate when the RIAA busts down MY door!

I have not investigated other P2P options as I have grown cranky and bitter about the whole idea.  My friend Mark is fond of BitTorrent which is some doohickey which does multi-threaded downloading from multiple sources.  He apparently knows where to look because he's got his damned iPod loaded with crap.

I've got bittorrent and I've used it for some open-source software aps.  it works well, but the community of users is still pretty esoteric and being of the non-expert crowd I have had difficulty applying it.  Does anyone have any experience with edonkey?

I own 3 of them.. Norah, Maroon5 and Evanescence.. too bad Evanescence - Fallen was recorded so poorly... it really is a great album. I downloaded Eminem to see if it was any good.. it was alright. Like byteme i also listen to the first Norah album about 10 times as much.

Bittorrent is awesome for downloading, just find a good tracker site and you will have full albums downloaded within a couple hours, much faster than eDonkey. I hesitate to list the tracker sites here due to the increase of arrests and shutdowns of torrent list sites in recent weeks...

I would use DC++, you can go to download.com and get it.  It uses hubs and you can easily get entire ablums.  The only problem is on most hubs there are minimun sharing levels but if you have about 5gbs of stuff you're fine.

Oh and zero.....
