"The VMPS tall boy sub woofer is in excellent condition, it has a front facing 12" polypropylene woofer (active), 15" front facing ppl (active) woofer, slot loaded and mass loaded 15" passive radiator (woofer) in an 8.25 ft3 160 lb oak enclosure. Need I say more? but there is more, also included is a Dayton SA 1000 sub amp with equalizer and crossover (1000 watts), the amp is brand new probably not even broken in yet. Yet there is even more I have the original owners manual for the sub and the amp as well. NASA's Langley research center uses two VMPS subs (yes I have two also, I am willing to sell the second one as well if interested) as a source of 120db sustained tone bursts. The enclosure top (oak) has been refinished and the passive woofer (15") has been refoamed, the other drivers are in good condition, definitely goes down to 20hz. they claim 17 hz. I also have the original dampening putty on the passive sub ready to fine tune to your room. A great deal and an amazing sub WOOFER!! Tight bass, very deep as well as fast, a great combination. I have been using the sub in a two channel system but it would be absolutely amazing in a surround system. PS I will consider selling without the sub amp if you want just the sub. "

Though, I don't know how or why the seller even in his wildest imagination thought that he had RM-50's!!!  Did he even try to find out what speaker he had???     I emailed the seller, sending him info on what he had, and a couple of quotes from Brian, on the design, and used prices.  I never heard anything back...   

Just the same, I'd love to hear them.  And would like to own them.  But, not at that price!  Even the opening bid is high, regardless of that Buy It Now fantasy land price!

"Have two pair and only need one. These sound incredible and have the FST tweeter and Mega woofers and I am pretty sure these have the Auricaps. I have not opened the cabinets and don't plan to.

These are incredible speakers when set up right and used with quality gear. Crap in equals Crap out.

240 lbs each, so these are for local Sacramento and Bay area, Reno area hand deliver once paypal payment has cleared.

Brian's speakers were built notoriously for sound and not finish. The veneer on these have some bubbles which
could be easily rectified, but from my listening chair,they look fine.

2500.00 hand delivered... price is beyond fair and firm. You would have to spend thousands more to compete.

"I purchased these speakers new from the factory back in the 80's they were just under $800 new way back then and were well worth it. They have 12" wolfers and down facing 12" passive radiators. The wolfers were replaced years ago and now the passive radiators need replaced. They have adjustable crossovers. "1 VMPS Passive Subwoofer. Original cost $800+. Great condition with minor scratches here or there, but very beautiful.

- 12 inch front firing super-tight driver with huge cone
- 12 inch down firing passive radiator
- Light colored wood enclosure with gloss black top and black grille (grille not pictured)

Subwoofer is tuned by removing some of the "putty" that is on the passive radiator (down firing) driver cone. You can set it for super tight deep bass or long throw extended bass. Sound is incredible. This is the best "musical" passive subwoofer in my opinion. Not muddy sounding at all. Can be used for home theater systems as well.
