Title: Finally! Audiophile Beer
Post by: kentj1948 on 22 May 2018, 05:43 pm
We spent last weekend in Ohio at a family get together.  Someone provided a few cans of Turntable Pilsner from the Great Lakes Brewing Company. The front of the can is kind of cool, if a little low-contrast, with a spinning record backed by the spines of other records.  The can urges the drinker to "Flip that record and wax nostalgic about Ohio's deep-cut music legacy..."  The weird thing is that the Great Lakes Brewing Company is located in Boston, Massachusetts.  I did say we were in Ohio.

Actually, Great Lakes Brewing Co. is in Ohio. They are located in Cleveland.

That is odd. Thanks for the heads-up though. I'm going to run out and grab some.

Cheers,

"How fitting that our top finisher—the very best of the 387 IPAs sent our way—has the word “gold” right in its name. How fitting, also, that it’s a collaboration not just between brewers, but between brewers and musicians—the rap group Run the Jewels helped brew the beer and named it after a track on their newest album. What does Run the Jewels have to do with beer? Plenty. Before founding Interboro in late 2016, Jesse Ferguson managed the influential underground hip-hop label Definitive Jux, which he started with Jaime Meline, AKA El-P of Run the Jewels. (You can read more about Ferguson’s journey from hip-hop to hops right here.) This isn’t the first time Run the Jewels has collaborated on a beer, either; they cooked up a dry-hopped Belgian wit with Goose Island in 2013."

The only audiophile drink is champagne brut or demi sec, beer is a cheap and too polular drink to be audiophile, think Solid State.

Shouldn't the IBU be 33 1/3?

Is this one of those beers that only tastes good if you use audiophile approved coasters? Be sure to use your Triode-Wire can kozy for transparent flavor.
