Hi,

I am currently using a pair of ATC scm40 v1s and are looking for upgrade them. I love its mids presentation and I mainly listen to vocals and occasionally piano and cello (no orchestra). My budget is $5000 for a pair of used floor standing speakers, might be able to stretch a bit based on specific cases. The ATC 40 v1 is still relatively small in footprint as a floor-standing speakers, I would like to keep this trend in my next speakers. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thanks!

Hello : The first speaker that came to mind was Merlin ..Great reviews. Small footprint, Great to look at and once properly set up , should work out well for you. As long as you don't fear buying used, I think it should be considered....These are no longer produced due to the passing of the Manufacturer, but this speakers is still being serviced . I am sure others can help with the person who does service Merlin's.......Good luck

I have a pair of PSB Synchrony One speakers for sale.  They have a midrange to die for.  They sold for $5K 10 years ago and were a Stereophile A+  speaker which they compared to $20K speakers.  They sound better than the current $7500 PSB T3's which I briefly owned and sold.

They are for sale at $1800.  Buyer pays shipping.  I will eat the paypal fees.  They are in mint condition.

The Paradigm SE300F and the Klipsch RP-4000F seem to be pretty good.

Also according to What-Hifi the Fyne Audio F302 is really good as well. I've never heard personally heard them myself but I have heard from friends who did that they're awesome. That's the one good thing about floor standing speakers too, the fact that they're so versatile when you get the right one. I'm thinking about upgrading myself soon too actually but wanted to wait and see what new HDMI 2.1 receivers come out first I think.
