Hum in Khartago mono amp
« on: 14 Aug 2020, 01:49 pm »
This is my first year of owning the Khartago mono amps. They have been great. I recently noticed that one of them has a hum that is coming from the speaker. No matter where I plug (AC) the symptom does not change. The other identical mono amp has no noise when plugged into the exact same outlet. The preamp feeding them is a Schiit Saga and it is  turned off.
Any ideas on what this may be?

All thoughts are appreciated.

Did you try using other interconnect cables?
Did you try swapping interconnect cables Left to Right?
Is everything plugged into the same AC mains outlet?

Hello Thank you for the advice.
I just now determined that a line from the preamp was the culprit eventhough the preamp was turned off.
I disconnected it and the problem is gone.
That line was going to a sub from the preout. I will track this down now that its beend isolated.

Thanks again!

I know this goes against all the safety rules, but I have often had to use a "cheater" plug on the powercord going to the sub to remove hum.
