¿ NuPrime DAC-9 driving Rotel RB-1552 MKII ?
« on: 15 Jul 2019, 04:26 am »
Hello !. I need help ! . I have a Rotel CD player (RCD-06) connected to a Nuprime DAC-9 dac / preamplifier using a digital coaxial cable (RCA connector). The DAC-9 sends its signal to an integrated amplifier (Rotel RA-1062). I want to sell the integrated amplifier and buy a Rotel RB-1552 MKII amplifier to be driven by the very good preamplifier that the DAC-9 has. My fear is that I can not use the very good 99-step volume control of the DAC-9 throughout its travel and can only use half of that scale, this is because it seems that the output of the preamplifier is quite powerful. So ... is anyone already using this DAC with the RB-1552 MKII? The DAC-9 has a 4v output as a maximum (taking the unbalanced RCA as a reference), but I do not know what the average normal value is. The RB-1552 MKII has a sensitivity of 1.5V at the RCA input. Thanks for your help !

Four volts from the XLR outputs is pretty much a standard so you should have no problems.  The DAC-10 is the same and I have used it with multiple amps.
