tube int-amp for bedroom system?
« on: 5 Apr 2010, 02:29 pm »
Looking for ideas here, and feedback from happy owners of suce.  Looking for a modest (>10w/ch) tube int-amp for my bedroom system .... easy listening, jazz, classical, etc.  I have an old Marantz receiver for now but want to try tubes.   Used with my iMAC for iTunes, CDs, internet radio, etc.   Thus, I only need 1, maybe two inputs.   So .. priorities are:
* good, clean sound ... also low noise
*attractive
* < $1K

  I'm considering Jolida FX-10, Jolida 102b, or 202b .....
Any other good ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

Glow Audio One
Ming-da makes integrated tube amp with iPod docking station
Decco integrated

I have used Aura Note all-in-one integrated/radio/CDP/USB/flash player but you said that you are looking for tubes.

You might try a used Onix/Melody SP3, great sound for the price and there is a ton of info on the web for tube rolling if you want to try that later. They can generally be found for $400 - $600.

sometimes awailable used for even less; but they go really quick.  you can find a plethora of gear that will work in your price-range; new, used & wintage.  but the one i mentioned, (one you already have your eye on), is cute as well!   :green:

That remote on the FX-10 will be nice for a bedroom set-up...
