SRV on SACD
« on: 21 Mar 2003, 03:58 am »
I just got an email from Elusive Disc with some new SACD releases; one of them was a Stevie Ray Vaughn disc, although I don't recall which one.  I want to say "Couldn't Stand the Weather", but I'm not sure.

I'm not his biggest fan, but I wouldn't mind one good SACD (a greatest hits would be cool).  He was immensely talented, it's more that I'm not a huge fan of that type of music (although I really like Robert Cray and Jeff Healey).

Cut 6 - Tin Pan Alley, off SRV's Couldn't Stand the Weather, is one of those killer cuts that really hits you over the head with how much better SACD is than redbook digital. I still think the vinyl copy of this might ultimately be a little sweeter sounding with SRV's guitar/vocals but the SACD is SO good, I don't drag out the LP anymore (I gave away the CD).
