Title: Open Baffle Speaker Review mentions Spatial Audio
Post by: dallaire1 on 5 Nov 2021, 11:36 pm
Just watched a review of a pair of OB speaks by Andrew Robinson. Clayton, I think you should hook this guy up with a demo ! he mentioned your company and threw up a picture of your new line, but says he can't comment as he has never heard them. Anyway, you may already know this. Talked a lot about everything we all already know about OB superior sound quailty.

i also watched that the other day. I was surprised to hear that the speaker he was reviewing could be located--my Spatials pretty much completely disappear, depending on the recording.
I was also surprised to hear his (girlfriend's?) comments, and how she liked certain other speakers better when he REALLY liked the one in review. Gives a reality check on everybody's tastes being different.
I believe that guy is in England, so may be problematic for Clayton to get him a review sample. Interesting review though!

I thought it was interesting myself. He seemed to be pleasantly surprised by the openness and lack of colorations with the OB design vs. a box speaker. I wish he would have reviewed one of Claytons models instead as they are full range OB designs, I just think it would have offered a more fair comparison with box style speakers. This guy does a lot of gear reviews. People are kind of weird about open baffle for whatever reason. I would almost guarantee if he spent a month with a pair of Clayton's full range designs that were pre broke in, he would be on the OB hook !
