Are there upgrades for the Candela? The Candela is a very good preamp for the money but there are usually upgrades available for most gear. I own the latest version of the Kismet stereo amplifier and the latest upgrades were noticeable.

Hey Hopeful, I have talked to Klaus a couple times about upgrading my Candela and his suggestion was to go to the Symphonic line.  I tried to upgrade it by buying a Cary SP05 thinking, because it was about $ 7K, I would get better sound.  But when I compared them side by side the Candela was more detailed on the high end and just sounded a tad better.  So I tried with no luck and just stayed with the Candela because it sounds so good.  If you find something better, I would love to hear about it!

Nice comments…I have compared the mighty Candela to many preamps over the years and I stay with the Candela…for the price is a bargain! Thank you 👍

If you every want to sell you Candela, please let me know.  I have heard noting but great things about this preamp.
