Hi Everyone.
My wife and I are moving to  Houston in about a month and we will have a dedicated media room!   

Most of the time the room will be used for two-channel music, but it will also be used as a home theater room.  I have already contacted GIK acoustics for acoustic advice, but I would like a local professional to help me decide whether to go with a projector or not for the video part of the set up. 

Does anyone here on AC know of a good A/V person they can refer me to?

Yes you want a projector !!!!  Or you can have both like I do . I have a 42 inch plasma for watching the news ,
Jeopardy, etc. then when we want to watch Netflix, or Blu-rays , we push a button and the screen comes down for very immersive  viewing . I have a 120 inch screen , viewing from about 12 -13 feet away .
I only do a 2.1 system. Your going to want a 12 inch to 15 inch subwoofer. Or two depending on the space .
Do check out the AVS forum and the Blu-Ray Forums . They are great resources for a ton information!!!!!!
Learn as much as you can from these forums. Then get a professional if u still want .
Fixed screens are better as you never get waves and creases.
