November GTG
« on: 7 Nov 2008, 09:46 pm »
I just moved my home-based dealership out of my home into a retail space in downtown Winchester. I'd like to host a November GTG in the next couple of weeks. Any interest?

Possibilities...

1) I just brought Nola loudspeakers into the Boston area if anyone is interested.
2) Help brainstorm how to transform a big crappy sounding space into something decent
3) Beer, wine and sharing music (not necessarily in that order).

Regards,
Patrick

I would be interested in attending.  My schedule is difficult through November, however.

Hey, I'm game. I'm 3.5 north of ya but that's shorter than my NY RAVE trips I've been taking.  What type of Nola loudspeakers do you have on hand? As for filling in a crappy sounding place, silk plants around the outside and behind&between the loudspeakers. I do this myself with some hanging silk baskets and I saw it done to perfection today(trees & floor plants) with Vandersteen 5A's @ John Rutan's Audio Connect in Verona, NJ. He also used some nice wood diffusion panels on the front wall to good effect.

Sure hope you can garner some interest Pat. :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

Do you want us to bring anything?

Food, drink, equipment?

I will supply beer, wine and some munchies.

Of course bring any music you want to listen to?

If anyone wants to show off equipment that would be great. I have lots of stuff, but I'm still in the process of moving and setup.

One possibility is to compare George's modded Squeezebox with a Transporter?

My cell phone is 781 526-0312.

Patrick

I have a Modwright Transporter that I would be willing to bring.  I sold my Bolder modified SB months ago.

Do you have SqueezeCenter running in the listening environment?

Yes, but not much music loaded so far. I'll try to get some more on, but everyone feel free to bring a thumb drive for a temporary copy of some music onto my computer.

I can easily bring over a 750GB or 1 TB external drive to hook-up.

See you on Saturday.

USB, Firewire, or eSATA?

I think I can do any of them depending on which drive I bring and what you can use.

Do you have a preference?
