Your Arcus picques my interest a lot.   I have AE TD12M and the Beyma's TPL-150H on hand, your Arcus uses the TD10M instead.   I am in the market to contract a design and probably cabinets.   I am in canada and shipping complete speakers is pretty cost prohibitive.  I am a retired DIY'er.  I know what I want, but no time anymore.

I am curious if you played with the TD12M and what you thought about the polars with crossing the beyman to the TD10m and the TD12m.   I see your stated xo is quite low for the beyma, maybe for efficiency reasons, I don't know.  Everything I have investigated and read, says the xo is better closer to 1800 than 1050.     The devil is in the details though.

Refer back to the picture Scott posted....if you recall, my hair isn't curly, and the dude in front looks like he's wearing a shirt that closely resembles a "Vapor" logo.  :P

Just to give you guys a heads-up, Ryan likes to "spoon".

Big spoon or little spoon?   :icon_twisted:

Well.....You don't think he's making 250 pound speakers because he's got a "big spoon", do you?  :icon_twisted:

"The Hyatt actually had some of the best rooms at the show even through the traffic here was low. Next door to Wilson were a couple of set ups by virtual new-kids-on-the block Vapor: two dramatic looking pairs of speakers that both sounded pretty good to my ears. Costing a fraction of the price, their Nimbus is not embarressed by the comparison."

sorry for the lack of any kind of point here, but what he/they have been able to accomplish in such a short time seems beyond  remarkable

and the artistry/quality  of their cabinets appear insane (I've only seen pics)

these rmaf reports are convince me to try and hear some of their offerings soon and maybe get a new tube amp while I'm at it

Very cool guy too.  :D

IMO, Ryan has one of the smallest egos of the speaker designers.  He is not afraid to listen and make improvements.  He also leverages others, realizing that he is not an expert in every area, such as speaker cables.  He did not hesitate to try new inductors in the crossovers when I suggested them.

Like most successful enterprises, this has obviously been an evolutionary process for him and did not happen overnight.  The important thing is that he has the ingredients for success:  experience, know-how, perseverance, a good eye for design and a good ear.  His speakers have blown me away from the very first listen to a Cirrus.

I bought a pair of Nimbus white myself.

Funny.

Duke once said that he wanted to be called: His Royal Highness Supreme Emperor and Dictator-For-Life the One, the Only Duke

I used to call him that.
