Christmas goat 2008
« on: 12 Dec 2008, 07:14 pm »
Hello!

I have been thinking of this when away from my computer but thanks to Oborous (Jason) who posted in the garage sale thread I have been reminded while I am at a keyboard.

It's true that The Goat lost that suspense of wondering if it would burn when the started coating it with special fire retardant. What were they thinking? I suppose explosives are a bit extreme but it is still fun to watch.

My all time favorite year was the pair of guys - one dressed as Santa and one as a Reindeer (I think) costumes - appeared from no-where and shot flaming arrows into the goat and promptly vanished into the night.

Here is this years web cam links:

and

I'll dig up the links to the old threads later. Great fun and thanks again to Per Arne Amflo of Sweden for first sharing this with me.

Thansk!

John....

Nice to see the Christmas Goat is back for 2008.... :hyper:

Here's your post history on the goat...

2003...

2004...

2005...

2006...

2007....missing in action.... (In 2007 The goat was impregnated with flame retardant chemicals and was not attacked by arsonists.)

Merry Christmas to you and yours John.... :xmas:

'Twas Santa and a Gingerbread man (Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread man!)

I read up on the history of the goat, there was a year that Swedish "hillbillies" (yes, the article had quotes around the hillbillies which just makes it better) hit it with their car and drove it into the river.

Thanks John!

Hello!

Yes - it was a Gingerbread man. That mental picture is something to behold! I had not seen the one about the 'Hillbillies' - Thanks for that!

Hello!

Well I go away for a few days and look what happens.....It seems the fire retardant is not going to work after all. It does put some suspense back into the goat watching and that is good I think.

Crazy here on the west coast of Canada. We go some years with no snow at all.  Usually get a dusting a few times each winter. This year we've had as much as 3 to 4 ft of snowfall in some areas in the past week or so.....

All the best to everyone and I hope you guys are all having great Christmas times out there!

No more waiting - The goat is here. We must enjoy it while we can! The fellow who first let me in on The Christmas Goat (the owner of  http://www.sonicdesign.se/ )   e-mailed today with this link:
