Hi John
I'm still in the process of getting a handle on the "sound" of the DDA-100, as I'm not sure it has one. I think that might actually be the ultimate compliment. While not warm in sound, I also don't find it to be sterile or bright unless the recording is sterile or bright. It doesn't candy coat a poor recording, but it sounds fabulous with a good one. Detail retrieval is so superior at this price level that old familiar songs sound very different, in a good way. I'm using a Pioneer PD-F958 changer and PSB Image B25 speakers. If you have a mid-fi system, and want to step up, Don't hesitate to get this amp.
