1st Terabyte drive not too expensive - lots of streaming audio (and video) love

"only" $399, kind of makes me wish I waited before getting that 500GB MyBook for $179  :duh: It features perpendicular storage and a 32GB cache to boot...

That's a very reasonable price considering 750 Gigabytes are about $300.00.

yes and its also apparently the best performing 7200rmp drive and very quiet/low power  :) eventually when the prices drop I can see them replacing my 250GB drives...

This is cool.  By two, one to backup the other, when the prices come down some and you are set (for music server).   Right now I am running a 4 drive (x 250gb) RAID 5 setup, but I have been watching for when the drive prices drop enough to make buying a 750gb drive to back up the string appealing.

Well I'll tell ya jqp; as soon as I've filled up my 250 gigabyte drive with ripped uncompressed CD's using EAC I will probably pick up a 750 Gigabyte drive. This should have the capacity to store about double the amount of my present music library.
