I guess I will start things.

Goffstown, NH

The system is progessing but things have not quite reached completion yet.

For electronics I have a DIY 6-channel amplifier and a DIY 6-channel volume control.  In front of that is a SRC, DEQ, and a modded DCX 2496 from Behringer.  A simple transport is used as a source.

I went the DIY route with speakers.  For midranges I will have a set Seas W18EX, W18NX, and PHL 1120.  If USPS didn't lose my package, I will also have some AudioTechnology drivers.  I have a range of tweeters and subwoofers as well but I do not want to get ahead of myself and get my hopse up.  Right now I have no stereo as things are still in progress.

Hopefully in the near future I will some equipment to travel around with as this circle picks up speed.

New England! Yeah baby!

I'm in Gardner, Mass.

System is all Levinson Reference. 32 preamp w/phono, 30.6 DAC, 31.5 transport, 1 pqir or 33 monos, 1 pair of 33H monos.
VPI Aries table w/SDS. Sony SCD777ES SACD. Speakers are Pipedreams 18.

Always up to company here. It's all about the music!

Best,

Hi Mark:

The 20t's are for sale. I tripped over a deal for the Pipedream 18's that was way too good to pass up.  :thumb:
Today is re-arrangement day, I just brought the 33H monos down from upstairs. I'm going to try the 33's on the mid/tweeter panels and the 33H's on the woofers, this may get reversed. I'm also experimenting with different placement of the woofers and the mid/tweeter towers. LOL this is way too much fun!

Best,

Paul  :green:

Here's a new pic from today of the "pipes" from my chair. The camera shrinks the view, the room width is almost 17'. the towers are about 5 feet off the front wall and about 9 feet apart. I had the bass bins in the front corners, moving them out about 4 feet both ways allowed me to both tuck the 33's and 33H's into the corners and it served to tighten the bass and improve staging. So far so good.

Best,

Paul  :green:

Paul,

Is that dog real?  ;-)  You have 33s AND 33Hs?  Yikes!  What do they run?  33H on a sub and 33 on a speaker?

Paul,

The dog is a ceramic "Nipper". Nipper was the dog on the RCA "his master's voice" logo. Yikes indeed on the 33's and 33H. At one time I was going to sell the 33H pair however that didn't work out. The pipedreams require bi or tri amplification so in the end it all worked out for the best.
The 33H's drive the woofers, and the 33's drive the mid/tweeters. I need to reverse this and try them the other way around.

I thank the powers that be and almighty God that I have been fortunate enough to maintain health, family and career and to have the enjoyment of great music in my home. None has come easy, thus appreciated all the more!

Best,

Paul :D

Mine is doubtless the most modest system here. I'm in Ipswich. At the moment, my two channel system (my only system) is:

Adcom GFA 535 amp
Morrision ELAD preamp
Arcam CD72 CD player
Silverline Minuet speakers

I am, however, very close to ordering an Insight 240 power amp from Frank Van Alstine. If it sounds as good as I hope it will, the Adcom will be up for sale.
