B Movies?
« on: 2 Apr 2015, 07:21 pm »
So a good buddy of mine hits me up the other day with a link to a trailer for something called "WolfCop"  :o

Usually I don't bother with his crazy suggestions, cause...well...I just can't really get into most of these films. Well, since I was off work that night and messing around with my HT room, I said what the heck. Not only was I really impressed with how good the film looked and sounded, I actually ended up enjoying it quite a bit.

So it just got me to thinking...are any of you guys into B movies, and if so, do you have some recommendations that I might be able to check out?

Here's the link to the WolfCop trailer... https://youtu.be/Cg6fovvvgb4

Larry Cohen's (Grand Poobah of the 70's B's) "God told me to" has just been released for the first time on Blu-ray .This movie is a must see! It was originally released into the "Grindhouse" Times square cinema's and has gained a cult following ever since. This one falls into the "Exorcist" backwash, and his NYC street shooting, some of it without permits, is amazing. Look for the first anywhere appearance of a young Andy Kaufman as a cop. This is just one crazy, twisted, masterpiece. It will either creep you out or give you a rash! This was the one Larry did before the killer baby movie.....!

Zombie Ass has to be the best of the lot I have seen in awhile.

A friend of mine was crying multiple times from a few scenes. In laughter, that is.

The B movies are the best, but this list is strange, it classify new movies from 1990/2000.
Real good B movies are from 1960 or older.
One of oddest: Alligattor People

Thanks FRM...interesting take! I love that youtube has full length films on there now...I had no idea they had a rental service until a few months ago when The Interview came out.

Pretty much anything directed by Roger Corman or William Castle.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a fun way to watch the "worst of the worse" B movies.

A few B movies to consider from Sci-Fi/ horror genres:  Plan 9 from Outer Space, Strait-Jacket, The Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
