Tangents in Jazz by the Jimmy Giuffre Four.
Picked up a beautiful M- copy recorded in 1955, released in 56.  This is really good jazz.  Giuffre was experimenting with a sound that wasn't percussion beat driven, allowing two horns or horn and clarinett to drive most of the music with bass and drums filling in spaces.  I've got to say, this is a very Cool sound.
Don't think it's available in stereo, but look for it!

In the buy that I made last week was another NM.  Although I have a couple of copies, you can't pass this up for $3

Vaughn Williams Sinfonia Antartica  on EMI with Haitink and the London Philharmonic.
Already had a copy, but couldn't pass it up for a buck.  This is a nice rendition with good dynamics.  Love to listen to it when it's cold out and the wind is blowing.

And Shostakovitch Sym #1  w Mitchell and the National Sym. Orch of Washington DC  on a1956 Westminster pressing.

Oohh, very cool catch of the day. Lucky you. I don’t think this is even on cd yet, much less stereo. A foreshadowing of my favorite Giuffre (the Giuffre, Bley, Swallow trio). Of the earlier stuff, I also like the Lee Konitz & Jimmy Giuffre recording.

I've never seen this label-- HK MarcoPolo of Hong Kong Records.  In the corner in small print  "Recorded in Association with Bose"
For two bucks, you gotta take a chance.

Weird, I would have to pick it up if I noticed it, too.

The beautiful thing about music is there is something for everyone... there are apparently even Roger Whittiker fans.  :thumb:

Not his best, but still has some nice cuts.  So many jazz greats struggled to stay relavent in the '70s
Freddie Hubbard  "Super Blue" NM for $2.50 at the local record store yesterday.

I have been lucky enough to get some bulk buys lately at a great price. So you get what you get but there are always the gems.
But i do have very eclectic music tastes just as well i guess.

I have a constant stream of vinyl coming in at the moment. I have been buying LP's in bulk lots and have added over 300 in the last 2 months. That is what happens when you buy new turntables yes i bought 2 and new speakers. And i'm loving the great sound of vinyl once again.

If I may ask, how are you cleaning your vinyl?  I found that a good cleaning routine made a large difference in enjoyment of my records.

I use the Knosti Disco Antistat Vinyl Record Cleaning Machine Cleaner Kit.
it does the job but i would like to get the Project Vacuum cleaning machine.
However the Knosti makes a big difference to most records.it comes with a stand for drying
that holds 15 lps i have another stand on the way that hots 20 allowing me to clean more at the same time.
however i know people like to clean records in many different ways
so i guess it is what works for them. I would like to know how you clean your Vinyl.
