Hi James,

What about the 14b sst, will it be affected with the upgrade also.  I have just ordred one last week from Audiolight, By any chance will it already have the upgrade.  Thank you.

Gilles.

Hi Gilles,

Yes any new order would be the new squared version. I will check tomorrow for you.

Hi James

Any sneak pics you can share?

Cheers
Adrian

Hi Adrian

They look identical to the SST except for the power switch on the front having a small '2' in it.

james

Thanks for that James. Will be bugging my dealer very shortly.

Given the questions about changeover to SST2 manufacture, it may be useful to have a definitive list of changeover serial numbers across the range to put people's minds at ease.

Cheers
Adrian

Very exciting news indeed! + Great to hear there aren't going to be any price increases near term!

James, you had mentioned earlier that most of the design benefits would not be carried forward to anything below the 600watt amps... does this generally infer that the greatest gains to be had in the squared series are reflected in the 14B and 7B?

Hi Chris,

The 28B is not changing.  The 28B has been such a great sounding amplifier that we decided to move that technology down into the rest of the amplifiers

Yes the major changes affect the Series type amplifiers like the 7B's and 14B's but we were able to incorporate some of the changes into the other amplifiers as well.

Hi Gilles,

I am trying to track down your amp for you. Audiolight ordered a 14B recently - is this unit for you?  Did you purchase the amp or is it just for audition? Also did you order a BP26 as well?

Hi James,

Yes this is the one and it is for me.  The BP 26 with the dac is for my brother.  My 14b is with the 17" faceplate silver, no handle.

Thank you.

Wow Mr Tanner. That was a reply in five minutes. I bought my amp in sept/oct of this year and the serial no is 004391. Does that mean that its a SST squared? It does not mention on the front or the rear though.
These questions are simply out of curiosity as i am really happy with the amp.
Thanks again
