3D glasses

I am not a huge fan of 3D movies and wearing the glasses but I thought it would be nice if I bought 8 pairs for my HT to have for those occasions when a 3D flick is chosen.

Does the lack of a 3D spec in the video industry impact the glasses?  Will any old 3D glass work or

I assuming you have a display that supports 3D. First consideration would be whether your device requires a certain type of glasses (active shutter, for example).

Personally, I can't see 3D since I have monovision. I understand that about 10 percent of the population also has an inability to process 3D even with "normal" eyesight.

Most active shuttered glasses are manufacturer specific and won't work with someone elses tv. There are a few manufacturers that are working on passive 3D but I don't know how successful they are with that.

Vizio and LG use passive glasses I believe at present.  There are companies that do make universal active glasses.
