Title: Listening with score in hand
Post by: woodsyi on 26 Sep 2017, 05:25 pm
I have been listening recently with a score in hand.  I came across an old opera that came with a score and really liked listening to it with it.  It's a different experience as you become more myopic with every note sung. I find myself being absorbed in technical aspect of singing.  It's probably not something you do with a brand new opera as you lose sight of the whole but it's a way to get deeper into music you already are familiar with.

It would be like this on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2PXYtmUjQA).

You can get a lot of free scores from here (http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Operas).

What do you think?
