Mad God is a stop motion animated film by Academy Award winner Phil Tippett. Phil is one of the minds behind the fantastic creatures and machines in the Star Wars films, Jurassic Park, Starship Troopers, and many more.

Mad God follows the The Assassin into a subterranean world populated by amazing, disgusting creatures working in a dystopian world. There is no dialog and no identifiable humans except for one. The purpose of this macabre world is unknown but it doesn't matter, the film is a feast for the eyes.

Available in Dolby Atmos, the squeaks, squishes, and squashes are sharp, clear and visceral.

The NY Times review said: "...this bleak experiment from the visual-effects titan Phil Tippett is best viewed on a very large screen and after a very small meal."

Mad God is not the friendly "G" rated film like the "Star Wars" films Tippett worked on. I would rate it as "R" for extreme visuals and violence against puppets. For young impressionable children with active imaginations, Mad God would be a nightmare nested inside a nightmare, wrapped in a bloody nightmare blanket.

"Tippett is relieved that “Mad God” has left his psyche and his studio, and has now haunted film festival audiences to great reception; he mischievously recounted the time a family with young children walked in to watch the film, only to run away soon after.
“That was amusing because if you hear, ‘It’s an animation film by the guy who worked on ‘Star Wars,’ people think, ‘Kids will love it. It’s like a Pixar film.’ And well, it ain’t,” he said."

Mad God is highly recommended for adventurous videophiles and an instant classic.
