Aloha,

Albert VS invited me to post pix of my VR-44 Aktive system.

TW Acustic Raven Two with TW-A Raven 10.5 arm and Transfiguration Proteus cartridge and Ortofon RS 309D arm and Ortofon Cadenza Mono cartridge.
Siltech Classic phono cable.
Zanden 120 phono.
Cary 303/300 player.
deHavilland Mercury 3 preamp.
deHavilland KE50A monoblock amps.
Audience Adept Response line conditioner (on Nordost Sort cones).
Siltech Classic 330 RCA interconnects and speaker wires.
Box Furniture 5-shelf sapele rack.
HRS and edenSound damping plates and pucks.

Mac Mini with Seagate HD, HP monitor, and Apple wireless mouse.

Are the VR44s the same speaker as the 55s with different drivers?

Not quite the same.  Same box but different drivers and crossovers.  I think the woofer amps might be the same, though.  The VR-44 Aktives use SB drivers. The VR-55s use honeycomb Accuton drivers.  I'm sure Albert can provide more details, though!
