What desktop player is best? I have an MQA cable dac and am currently using tidal desktop app but dont like not being able to control app app with phone also would like to integrate flac libuary into player.

I use Windows so audio nirvana is out? Also roon cost more than dac so doesn't make sense.

Any other recommendations ?

Have you considered the $550 NAD Node 2i?  Works with or without a computer (wired or wirelessly, Windows or Mac), analog input, Airplay, with any coax/optical input, and can stream internet radio.  Outputs to headphones, 2-way Bluetooth, an amp or powered/active speakers plus a powered subwoofer.  Can also be controlled via a smart phone, tablets, or Amazon Echo/Alexa, Apple Siri, or Google Assistant (voice recognition).  Runs off built-in very stable BlueSound operating system (fully MQA compatible) with access to many streaming services so no extra software needed.  Plays S/PDIF up to 32/192.  Excellent sound quality for this price has trickled down from the NAD Master Series (I own the M10 "streaming amplifier).

The Klipsch Gate is around $90, comes with DTS Playfi app which you can operate from a PC, phone or tablet and will stream almost everything. If you want MQA (which you should since you have an MQA DAC) I think you will be limited to the desktop tidal app, Bluos, or Roon. You can check out the Gate thread here on AC for more info.

I looked at the node but it cannot output usb and my dac can only accept mqa from usb.

So far best option seems to be audio nirvana as it now works on windows as well.

For seem reason audio nirvana thinks my dac is non dsd compliant (jriver lakhs dsd 11.2 no problem into dac and dac read it as such)

Not sure if dsd is with it though I am already plugging myself down so many wormholes at the moment I don't need another 😁😁
