I just realized something. Whenever you guys "Like" me on Facebook, I get to see pictures of you. At least I see your public ones anyway. For some of you, I just see your profile pics. Still, it is good to see some faces behind those names. Some of you have been customers for a long time and seeing who you are is pretty cool.
Thanks for all the "Likes" so far. That was quick.

Hope this works out well for you!

I just realized that I have TONS of pics of speakers that have never been posted.
I think I will make a folder for each series of speakers that I have designed and upload some of these pics into those folders.
If any of my customers would like to e-mail me pictures of their builds then I will include the pics of your speakers on my FB page. Just e-mail the pics to info@gr-research.com.
-
Your postings are a real history of GR Research. Who are all those people in the pictures? Welcome to facebook.
-
Yeah, I am going to have to go in and label a bunch of those pics now. All of those pictures of speakers that aren't mine are actually speakers that I did some level of design work on.
A couple of years in a row there I had product in 4 or 5 rooms just on the 2nd floor alone. I don't know how so many of my clients all had rooms on the 2nd floor with me but it was pretty of cool.
I have had a FB account for several years now, but tonight is the first day to launch a GR Research page.

Not a fan of Face Book either. I joined a couple years ago and cancelled after 10seconds. Not for me!!!
So don't forget us nonFB folks!!!!

I use my wife's facebook "sign in" to look at the pics of my grand daughter. Other than that, AC is my prefered social network. You really can't chat about about Audio on Facebook :dunno:
I'll send a "like" your way Danny, but please keep the presence up on AC. face book seem to be mostly for kids and gossip. AC is for all things Audio.

I think it's a good idea to have a facebook page. I bet I've talked to dozens of interested music lovers, since I started building two months ago, who didn't know you can buy kits and "build" your own speakers. Especially good ones. Wouldn't facebook be seen as totally free marketing? Also, can't you share links to pictures and pages on facebook? I am a total casual user of facebook, but I think that's the case.
I am sure AC will always be the prefered method of learning and sharing audio ideas.

Don't worry. I won't leave out my AC members. Facebook just reaches a different audience.
-
Danny - Think it's a great idea, I am not much of a Facebook guy either but trust me we will all check it out to see what is going on often and thanks for all you do to assist us in our passion for music, gear and kick ass speakers!

It's also a great place to post lots of albums of pics :thumb: already looked through them all and was showing off your work. One of my coworkers thought the LS9's looked amazing and he thought they were "150 large at least!" he was floored when I told them they were under 10k fully built by ACA and even less in kit form.

I use facebook to keep in touch with family and friends, and to get updates on my favorite audio brands.

I only offer the same council I give any business that brings up Facebook, or anything like it either in the past or future:
1. Read very carefully and understand completely, in plain language, the terms of the End User License Agreement, and the implications of it on your valuable and very difficult to defend intellectual property.
2. Understand plainly and clearly that the terms of this agreement can and will change, arbitrarily, beyond your control or consent and occasionally knowledge, and all but invariably not in any way, shape, or form to your advantage - this business is out to create advantage for itself and its interests alone.
Have fun on Facebook! :)
-
Thanks for the warning Johathon.
I will likely just use FB for pictures and announcements of sales or new products. I don't share to much intellectual material anywhere.
As soon as time permits I will post some really interesting pictures showing some historical development of the company.
-
Danny: excellent warning from Jonathan. I only go to facebook every week or two just because my kids and grandkids post photos and funny stuff.
-
I am not a FB fan but do check it once a week or so ... as that is how folks share pictures etc. these days ...
I think FB is an excellent tool for reaching out to the masses - the non-audiophile people ... to make them aware of good audio at affordable prices ...
People love free stuff on FB ... one way to get people's attention on FB is give something away for 500 likes or something like that ... it is worth trying to attention of new people - as those folks are not show goers or troll audio forums ...
Good decision

It's also a great way to market to audiophiles who aren't into forums. I know it sounds strange but I would bet there's probably droves of audiophiles who only go online to look at what's up with their friends. They see their friend liking some cool speakers made by GR RESEARCH, a company they've never heard of, they go to investigate and bam, a potential new customer. Its an extremely viable option. Check out the Klipsch page, they're huge into social media and show off their history and run Facebook only specials that reaches a different audience. They don't neglect their other audiences, they have their own forum, but Facebook reaches a different and potentially untapped audience that may have never considered their products before. Just my 2 cents :-)

JHaudio seems to have done well on there, I think it's a nice way to interact and get people to go from Facebook to forum because the pictures piqued their interest.
-
Hmmm... Maybe a Facebook speaker tour to get things kicked off. Since the N2X and N1X are on tour, mentioning them on their might spread the interest.
-
Hey Guys, send me your build pics and I'll post them on my Facebook page.
Send to: info@gr-research.com
-
I posted a few more pics tonight.
-
I have build pics of the Insignia Mod *shrug*. Want those? Or is that product even available now? I heard BB doesn't make em anymore but I might be wrong.
-
I posted some V-1, V-2 and Super-V pics today. Guys please keep sending me pics and I'll post them. Speaking of Guy, there are a couple of pics of Guy in Vietnam with his V-Series creations.
-
Today I added pics of the old Lucidity Series speakers. Those were the Criterion and Diluceo models.
If you guys will send me pics of your speakers I will get them posted in the appropriate folder.
