I was wondering if there is any quality headphones (no earbuds) with volume controls on them. I am running an imod (fixed output) for 2 channel use and would be interested in trying out some quality headphones with it. I would like to keep it simple (no headphone amp) since i don't know how often I would use the set up. Budget is $100, an ideas?

Do you have an existing pair of headphones you like?  If so, then just add something like a Shure in-line volume control (http://www.headphone.com/products/cables-and-adaptors/cables-by-others/shure-pa235-level-attenuator.php).  I use one with my UM1's since they are a bit too sensitive. 

In the end, you'll end up with the best sound combining something like this with a headphone you like as very few nice headphones have a volume control. 

Grado SR-80's would be a good option to try with the Shure volume control.

Thanks brad. I will pick one of these up and then maybe some grado 60s or 80s. I think that would be a good entry into headphones.
