ADUM4160 isolation on Empirical Audio USB devices
« on: 12 Apr 2010, 03:14 am »
Steve.  Any benefit from this isolation IC on Empirical Audio products with USB?

Curious to put a DIY project board between my music server and Off Ramp 3.  Looking at this plug-in device using the IC:

The Off-Ramp output is already isolated, so this will only add jitter IMO.

For the Pace-Car USB, the power from the USB cable is needed for the USB module and then there are similar but faster isolators after the USB module.  It's already in there.
