Help me make a jazz classics mix tape
« on: 18 Sep 2011, 04:03 am »
I want to record a mix tape of a variety of Jazz hits or well known pieces from the late 40s throught the lates 60s. Several cuts from Dave Brubeck's Time Out album will definitely be on there as well as some Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, & Sonny Rollins tunes. I like lively, swinging tunes that make you want to tap those toes. I don't care for the noodling free form stuff, or slow droning stuff.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

PS. I have gathered a small collection of jazz CDs and records from other artists such as Horace Parlan, Sonny Stitt, Red Garland, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon and others.
