Welcome to Sweet Deals

Hi and welcome to the Sweet Deals Circle. If you haven't done so yet, please read the Guidelines before posting.

Just about any deals directly related to audio and home theater are welcome here. If you're not sure about whether a deal should be posted, feel free to PM me. Since we've just started it may take a little time for things to shake out, but I'm hoping for a lot of traffic and a lot of great deals.  :thumb:

Dan,
Congrats on the new Circle.  Do you expect each deal to have its own thread, or most deals just go here in this one (as there is likely not a lot of discussion or debate about any one deal).  Would I post a link about a great 52" closeout plasma at XYZ store in a separate thread and expect lots of discussion, and maybe better daily deals on same tv at ABC store....or would those better deals have their own thread?

How is this different than the Cheap & Cheerful circle?

Cheap & Cheerful is a discussion board for budget gear, with suggestions, advice, etc.  This Circle is simply a place to post links to deals / sales / etc.  Say you hear a dealer / store is running a 10% off sale for a limited time (or whatever), you post it here.

Dan,

Thanks for stepping up and running this Circle.

Maybe a good start (and possible sticky) would be to post links or sites that specialize in advertising great deals?

I use the following to look for good deals (more on the HT side of things than audio):

http://www.dealcatcher.com/

http://www.techbargains.com/

Because these sites do more than show HT/Audio bargains or sweet deals, feel free to flush it.

Hi Ted,

Good question. I think that most of the deals posted with only have one post, but I suspect there will be discussion on some. So separate threads would seem to be the better option, IMO. Also, it will make searching easier.

That sounds like an audio "related item" to me.

Definitely do a new thread for each deal. The thread title will let me know it's a new deal and not just a comment here.

Music and movies are both welcome. So is room correction and planning software, cataloging programs, etc.

Guys, thanks for the deal posts, I'll split them off so they have more visibility. :)

How about PC related?

Since modern audio and home theater is often interconnected and HTPC's have been around for quite a while, I'm inclined to allow PC, Mac and networking related deals. My Squeezebox would be pretty useless without a PC and network connection. ;)
