The Veracity STs are beautiful, and knowing how the finish for Jim's speakers is even more impressive in person, I think these are going to be very impressive at the show.

Hope you'll have a great time while there!

Jim,

I want my subs to look like those cinnamon burl VSTs if when or where you run out of the angel step.

Good luck and have a great time at the Capital Fest.

Soundscape 8 + Ava gear my vote for #1 sound at CAF this year - and I own neither brands so I'm not a fanboy or shilling. Congrats - sure you're both getting a lot of that.

Now if you could just tony up Murphy's philharmonic 3's he would easily earn the #2 spot!  I know - listen with your ears and not your eyes, so says sir van alstine.

Thanks for coming and please come back!

Well, I'm sure Jim could tone you up a pair if you fork over some cash.  Look what he did to my tower speaker.

Hey Dennis: if he can do that to the 3s, particularly for similar $, you've got a slam dunk on your hands! :thumb:

Everyone I know thinks the 3s are awesome.

Thanks for the positive comment.   The trouble with the 3 is that its form strictly follows function.  It looks like a New England church steeple, and it still will no matter what quality finish you apply to the cabinets.  I'm not sure its basic shape can be changed without sacrificing sound quality.  It targets an entirely different market segment.  So listen with your ears..............

Salk, AVA, and Philharmonic were among a small group bucking the trend of prices that ran the gamut from the extravagant to the insane, and nevertheless still managed to be very much in the hunt for 'best sound' (roughly analogous to 'pound for pound' in boxing). In fact, there often seemed to be an inverse relationship between complexity and SQ for me.
