John asked us to do a version of the Magnifico center channel with a Scan-Speak beryllium dome tweeter. Enjoy!

Rick,

The speaker is exceptional in both sound and finish.  I'll provide more feedback when I get a chance to do some additional listening.  The curved solid cherry edges look amazing.

Cheers,
John

I imagine that combination of drivers would make a great floorstander.

With a floorstander I would use the Accuton C90 and take advantage of the Be's capability to cross lower. This is similar to what Jim and Dennis are doing with one of the newer Salk designs.

Rick you make  a very good point.  For a larger speaker you can (and should) use a larger midrange.  When I had Rick build this speaker I thought of the idea of using a 5" Accuton midrange.  However, the speaker would have been ~2" taller and wider as well and I wanted to keep the speaker to less than 12" in height.

Regardless, it sounds amazing.

Best,
John
