It's cherry with some dye added.

Awesome ! I really like the understated but classy finish. The dye gives the right tone to the finish.

This is Rick's standard cherry finish.  Nothing standard about the performance which is simply spectacular.

I am sure they sound great. Enjoy  :)

I'm curious as to what sort of dye you use? Aniline (sp?) dye?

I'm not sure but I can ask the company that does the finishing.

It looks almost like the tweeter isn't flush mounted.  Is that true?  If so, do you have to do anything in the crossover to compensate?

Surface mounted due to the very stiff and thin frame. No crossover compensation is needed. With a design like this the front magnets on the ribbon form a quasi-horn; as a result, the cabinet diffraction is reduced.

Thanks Rick.  That makes sense.
