I have had the Hiddenite for about 4 months and really enjoy the speakers. The sound is very detailed but never harsh. Dispersion with the dome tweeter is excellent.
The 7” woofer that Rick uses in this design is also in the 35F and 35CC which I have as well and I think it strikes a good balance between having great detail retrieval and being overally critical with associated gear. The speakers sound great on a receiver or in my reference room with Blue Circle gear.
Being a small sealed monitor the bass is tight, tuneful and satisfying in a small room. For larger rooms or if your goal is a full range speaker you will want to add a subwoofer. Integrating a sub is fairly easy since the Hiddenite is sealed.
Most importantly I do not think you will achieve this level of performance anywhere near this price. Add a subwoofer and you will have a very nice system.
